One of Inflow’s main areas of expertise is the design and manufacture of safe, fast and cost effective bottom loading skids.
With the requirement / recommendation that all new tankers be fitted with bottom loading more and more petroleum terminals and authorized oil distributors are turning to Inflow for their bottom loading requirements
Client – Major UK petroleum and oil distributor.
Site – Authorised distributor depot
Requirement – To provide a cost effective solution for bottom loading of diesel, kerosene and gas oil into new and existing road tankers at one of their authorised distribution depots in the North of England.
Inflow solution – We recommended the use of one of our ADM 3 arm skid units. These units are designed and fitted out with all the equipment necessary for them to operate as soon as they are delivered. The following specification was proposed after a detailed site survey and client meeting to ensure we met the clients requirements –
3 arm skid system with Inflow 445 bottom loading arms, 4” inflow flowmeters with mechanical counters, ticket printers and pre-set valves. High speed 7.5kw pumps fitted on board the skid producing optimum filling speeds of up to 1600 litres per minute. 4” mild steel, powder coated welded pipework throughout. Tanker high level cut off and earth monitor and electrical control system designed to zone 1 Exd hazardous area rating.
General arrangement drawings were supplied to the client and once approved, procurement and production was completed within the required timescale. In this instance Inflow were also contracted to provide project management services for the on-site mechanical and electrical installation. Working closely with our experienced M&E contractors we achieved this to the clients complete satisfaction.
Outcome – The client was happy with all aspects of our design, supply and installation management and is now rolling out the Inflow skid to other depots in the North and East of England.
