This year, IFC Inflow celebrate 25 years in business! The company was founded as ‘Industrial Flow Control Ltd’ in 1987 primarily to sell tanker loading and process metering equipment. IFC Inflow is run today by Operations Manager Kiran Shaw and Technical Director Greg Clarke, who both agree that 25 years in business is a real milestone and to still be growing and developing after this length of time is a key to its success.
In the beginning, IFC Inflow was an equipment distributor of flow meters and loading arms. Over the years this emphasis has changed - now IFC Inflow provide total project solutions including design, fabrication and installation services along with a range of standard products direct from stock. Kiran notes “In 1987 we only sold products that were made and designed by other companies for a specific purpose. As customers within our industry reduced their in-house engineering staff it became apparent that we needed to offer engineering solutions as well as standard products. We invested heavily in our own design and engineering facilities and developed equipment better suited to our customers needs”. IFC Inflow has moved from a standard equipment distributor to a total solution provider – listening to customer requirements and providing purpose-designed solutions incorporating existing products as well as designing or sourcing new products to match customer needs.
As well as moving to a more bespoke product range, IFC Inflow also developed and pioneered the use of road oil tanker bottom loading skids within the authorised distributor depot market. Their very first unit was built in 1994 and since then, over 100 units have been supplied to the UK alone. IFC Inflow has also expanded into different types of tanker loading, fuel bunkering and tanker safe access sectors.
As a company, IFC inflow has doubled in size. Their customer base has grown to over 2000 clients including many blue chip companies, with their export business having tripled since 1987. Kiran states that IFC pride themselves on having a dedicated team of professionals to give their customers everything they need, “over the past 25 years we have gained a unique insight into the specific needs of our customers which allows us to provide them with the most effective solution to any tanker loading or safe access requirement. We look forward to what the future holds!”
