Ground Works and pipe runs

IFC has considerable experience in the design, supply and Installation of both carbon steel and Durapipe plastic pipe work. Inside the tank bund and where the pipe work is above ground we recommend Schedule 40 grade carbon steel pipe. Each length would be direct welded or flanged to prevent leakage normally found with screw-threaded systems. A red oxide primer and two topcoats of durable topcoat are applied to provide a long life anti corrosion protection.

Where under ground or sub-surface installation is required a double skin polyethylene pipe system like Durapipe is more appropriate.

This pipe system is electro fusion welded in-situ & secured via fixing clamps to a suitable surface or cast in ducts. Durapipe is an industry standard & boasts long life without degradation.

For additional security a leak detection system can be fitted which will constantly test the interstitial space between the double skin pipe-work for leaks. It does this by pressurizing the space with low-pressure nitrogen or air up to approximately 2 bar.

If the monitor is constantly "topping up" the system then at a set point it will alarm alerting the service department to a potential fault & can be investigated before a containment break occurs.
