Bottom loading arms can be operated directly from ground level without need for loading platforms.   When equipped with a special horizontal balancer the arm can be conveniently handled by one operator.

With a single BLA the vapour must be vented through an opening at the top of the tanker.   This loading procedure is referred to as an ‘open loop’ transfer.

In cases where low density liquids (such as butane and propane) and toxic or explosive vapours are handled, ‘closed loop’ product transfer is necessary. For this application, two bottom loading arms are used. This prevents product escaping into the atmosphere and offers the best possible operator safety and minimises environmental pollution.

An extensive range of accessories are available, in order to make the loading system suitable for every specific situation, such as:

  • Purge and drain provisions
  • Manually or pneumatically operated product valves
  • Heating and insulating
  • Quick couplers for truck connection
  • Safety Break Valve
  • Unique low-height concept for applications where pump capacity is limited or gravity feed restricted
  • PTFE lining for highly aggressive media
  • Large radius elbows to enable pigging
